The body stores excess fats in individuals in different parts, leaving an unattractive shape. Perhaps the most popular region victimized by excess fat are the abdomen, hips, and thighs. Areas that are noticeably difficult to cover are such an unpleasant feeling for patients. In this case, they usually choose liposuction to get in shape as fast as possible. Surgery can usually remove excess fat permanently. However, since a maximum of 5 liters of fat can be removed through liposuction, liposuction is not suitable for general weight reduction, and it’s usually not a priority when it comes to losing weight. Instead, the body should be remodeled in the desired places, creating harmonious body contours.

If you want to know about The Side effects of Liposuction can read this article.

Liposuction Techniques

The duration of the procedure varies depending on the extent of the desired liposuction. The most common method nowadays is liposuction with tumescent local anesthesia, a locally effective anesthetic mixed with saline solution, which is injected under the fatty tissue at the wanted location. In order to inject the tumescent solution and then to be able to suck out the fat more easily, small skin incisions (max. 5 mm) are made in inconspicuous areas and cannulas are inserted over them. As soon as the anesthetic takes effect after about half an hour, the fatty tissue can be suctioned off through the cannulas. However, some experience is required to guide these through the connective tissue as efficiently and gently as possible. Finally, the cuts are closed with fine sutures. As a rule, no excess skin flaps should be left after liposuction, as the skin shrinks and adapts to the new shape due to internal scarring and elasticity.

1- Laser lipolysis

The laser-assisted liposuction procedure is also called laser lipolysis or Smartlipo and usually takes 15 to 20 minutes per session, having minimal possible side effects. A very thin cannula is inserted into the fat layer with a laser beam, which generates thermal energy. When this heat from the laser beam hits the fat cells, they liquefy. As with other fat-liquefying methods, this has the advantage that the fat can be sucked off more easily in the liquid state. Lasers may also stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which results in firmer, tighter, and smoother skin. Since the laser light closes the blood vessels, this procedure results in less swelling and bleeding under the skin. The method is particularly suitable for smaller fat deposits, as they can be removed with laser lipolysis without general anesthesia. It’s a safe option for people with different skin types and causes few side effects. You’ll be awake during the procedure, considering it doesn’t require any general anesthesia and can be performed under local anesthesia.

2- Bodytite

The so-called Bodytite procedure uses radiofrequency, one of the latest liposuction techniques. Similar to laser lipolysis, precision-controlled thermal energy is also used here. Instead of the laser, however, radio waves ensure that the fat cells are processed in such a way that they can be suctioned off. Bodytite liposuction is minimally invasive. In this procedure, a fine cannula is provided with an electrode and inserted into the fat layer under the skin. This electrode creates radio waves that send thermal energy to the fat and subcutaneous tissues. At the same time, another electrode is placed on the outside to control the temperature of the skin and prevent overheating. The radio waves not only ensure that the fat can be sucked off more easily but also induce the formation of new collagen tissue and thus have a skin-tightening effect. Since Bodytite can treat difficult areas of the body as well as sucking off large amounts of fat, this procedure offers both the advantages of laser-assisted liposuction and conventional procedures. Recovery time after the Bodytite is dependent on the amount of treatment conducted. Smaller treatment areas may need only a few days of downtime to return to optimal comfort. Larger areas, such as the thighs, hips, buttocks, and abdomen, may need up to 10 days for a full recovery.

3- Water-jet-assisted liposuction

With the water jet technique (WAL), the fat cells are loosened from the tissue with a water jet and sucked off. Not only does the water jet make this method particularly gentle, but also the significantly lower amount of tumescent solution that is used with this method. In addition, the procedure is shorter overall, as the exposure time for the anesthetic solution is much shorter. Fat removed by water jet assisted liposuction from the body uses significantly less force than older liposuction techniques.

4- Ultrasound-assisted liposuction

With the ultrasound method (UAL), a special probe is inserted into the adipose tissue via the cannula. This releases energy and destroys the fat cells, which liquefy as a result. The fat is further sucked off.  It isn't a treatment for people who are trying to lose a lot of weight, but the advantage of this method of liposuction is that it is particularly suitable for areas with rather firm tissue including the back. However, it is very important here that the probe is constantly in motion, otherwise, it burning the tissue may occur. Since the cannulas have a larger circumference, the surgeon cannot work as accurately as with other methods and is more likely to damage the nerves during the procedure.

5- Tumescent Liposuction

The most popular form of liposuction as well as the most common cosmetic procedure in the U.S. is tumescent liposuction, which is more effective, safer, and less painful than traditional liposuction, and has a quicker recovery time. It is performed as an outpatient procedure and does not require general anesthesia. Usually, After liposuction, some patients notice that their skin may droop or hang a little after the fat has been removed. For tumescent liposuction patients, this is pretty unlikely to happen. The results of tumescent liposuction are permanent. You may still feel pain at the treatment site with the tumescent method. However, compared with traditional liposuction, the pain lasts an average of 24 hours and it’s more manageable.

6- Vaser liposuction

During a Vaser liposuction procedure, the area that needs to be treated is filled with a medicated solution. The fat cells are then treated with ultrasound energy and are removed from the body through a gentle suction process. The surrounding tissues are left undamaged, giving you the smoother contours you want with less pain and recovery time than traditional liposuction. Vaser liposuction can treat multiple areas in just one session. The results are observed as early as one week after the surgery. At Ermateb we provide you surgeons who will sculpt your body the way you want.

7- Lipopulsing

Another procedure in which the fat is liquefied as part of the procedure before suction is called lipopulsing. The effect of the ultrasound is not responsible for the liquefaction, the electrical impulses are. These are sent to the fat tissue with very thin cannulas in order to destroy the cell walls with a very high frequency and thereby liquefy the fat before suctioning it.

8- Vibratory lipolysis

Liposuction by vibration is also called vibration technology or power-assisted liposuction (PAL). In this procedure, the fat cells are firstly broken down or emulsified by vibratory movements of the cannula and the fat emulsion is then gently aspirated with finer instruments for more accurate fat removal and body sculpting. While the conventional liposuction procedure is based on the surgeon's rhythmic movements, with this technique the cannula vibrates electronically up to 80 times per second. This is not only gentler on the tissue, but also hardly noticeable for the patient. In addition, more difficult areas, such as the knees or calves, can also be tackled with this technique. However, the vibration makes it more difficult to determine whether resistance has been met. This can be muscle tissue, for example, which should not be affected by the procedure.
