The surgery takes 30 min to 3 hours.
After recovery room, in the absence of any serious complications, you will be able to go home. for the first 48 hours after surgery, you may feel a bit sleepy due to anesthesia materials. your symptoms such as pain, discomfort, bruising, numbness, and redness will resolve in the first few weeks. you can get back to work and normal activities after 5 days.
There are some possible risks and complications that a surgery can bring for the patient; such as, infection, scarring, breast skin loosening and nipple numbness.
In order to reduce any post-operation complications and help your body to heal sooner, there are some instructions to follow. remember not to take a shower in the first 48hours, as you have the dressing on your surgical site. you are not allowed to do heavy exercises until 4 weeks. whenever you are pain-free, you can drive and do other normal activities. for the first week only sleep on your back. they will give you a special surgical bra to wear for the first 2 weeks after the operation.
There are no significant contraindications to this type of surgery but, if you have any type of breast cancer, any infectious condition, are pregnant at the moment, or breastfeeding period, psychological problems, and tissue insufficiency, you are not a good candidate for sure.
